Abby Rivas, ACSM-CEP

Abby is a certified exercise physiologist through the American College of Sports Medicine (ACSM). In her continuation of providing health expertise in fitness, Abby obtained her certification in pre/postnatal performance training through PROnatal Fitness. Abby holds expertise in calisthenics, running, and weightlifting, which she practices in her own personal training. With her clients, she incorporates principles of strength and conditioning, functional training for preventive injury, mobility training, interval and circuit training. She has volunteered in several physical therapy clinics and worked closely with experienced rehab professionals since 2012, and has been a personal trainer since 2015. Abby strives to teach clients how to maintain peak physical health in an enjoyable and sustainable way.

Abby has competed in several powerlifting competitions hosted by USA Powerlifting as well as one with the Women’s Strength Coalition to support the Ali Forney Center for Homeless LGBTQ Youth. Her passion for a healthy and active lifestyle was instilled at a young age by her father, a phys ed. teacher, and it led her to eventually graduate with a BS in exercise science from Brooklyn College. A native New Yorker, Abby enjoys nature walks, photography and travel.
